Penetrating Concrete Sealer

The reason your concrete is ugly (or soon will be) is because you haven’t had it sealed in years probably since it was installed…right? Go ahead, pour some water on it – what do you see? If your concrete darkens-up and absorbs water and turns brown, it's UNSEALED.

By allowing water to get into your concrete, you are most certainly asking for trouble. Water expands up to 9% when it freezes and pushes against the concrete around it, leading to cracks, which absorb more water and leading to even larger cracks. This process repeats over and over until your concrete is cracked, broken, chipped, and flaked. Prevent all of these problems with Concrete Protector Penetrating Hydrophobic Concrete Sealer, the best concrete sealer on the market today.

In addition to freeze-thaw cycles and damage caused by salt and other ice melting chemicals, driveways are threatened by a host of other common hazards, including lawn fertilizer, oil, gas, anti-freeze, UV rays, and acidic rain, among others. An unsealed driveway will definitely become a major problem in the future due to rotting, broken, and cracked concrete. By this stage, you’re looking at complete tear-out and replacement, which is admittedly expensive. Save yourself some money and use Concrete Protector Penetrating Hydrophobic Concrete Sealer to protect your driveway and keep it looking great.

Concrete Protector Penetrating Hydrophobic Concrete Sealer protects concrete surfaces from severe conditions like rainwater, freeze-thaw cycles, road salts, de-icers, and other common hazards. Our Penetrating Concrete Sealer penetrates deep into your concrete’s pores and seals the surface to protect your concrete from all types of concrete damage without changing the appearance or texture of the concrete.

Why is our concrete sealer better?

Unlike acrylic sealers that form a film on the concrete surface, Concrete Protector Penetrating Sealer chemically alters the concrete’s surface by glassifying it to create a clear waterproof resistant membrane protecting the surface from water penetration that causes damage. At the same time, the appearance (color) and texture of the surface is not changed in any way like other sealers do.

Concrete Protector Penetrating Sealer is the highest quality hydrophobic concrete sealer on the market today. In addition to its superior performance, it is also formulated, packaged, and delivered with the environment in mind. Compliant with all federal and local VOC laws, Concrete Protector Penetrating Sealer is an environmentally friendly concrete sealing option. Each bottle of Concrete Protector Penetrating Sealer is super-concentrated, with each one quart bottle produces 2 ½ gallons of ready to use sealer. By diluting the sealer 9:1 with water (2 ¼ gallons of water to 1 quart bottle of sealer), you’ll have a concrete sealer that will protect your concrete for years to come. Wash your concrete and spray on! It’s that easy!

Why concrete needs sealed

Letting water penetrate your concrete is just asking for trouble. Water in the pores of your concrete causes all types of damage and will lead to larger and larger cracks over time. Water expands up to 9% when it freezes, pushing against your concrete, creating larger pores, which absorb more water, etc. If your concrete is unsealed, this process will repeat over and over until your concrete is cracked, broken, and terrible looking. By using The Concrete Protector Penetrating Sealer, you’re protecting your concrete from water saturation and the resulting damage.

In addition to damage caused by salt and other chemicals, there are many other hazards that can damage your unsealed concrete. Lawn fertilizer, oil, gasoline, anti-freeze, acid rain, and even UV rays pose a threat to your concrete and can lead to severe damage. Protect your concrete and prevent the need for expensive tear out and replacement by choosing The Concrete Protector Penetrating Sealer.

How Much Does Concrete Sealer Cost?

You can purchase The Concrete Protector Penetrating Sealer from us at and apply it yourself for around $.19 per sq. ft.  The quart sized bottles of penetrating sealer are concentrated and make 2.5 gallons of ready-to-use sealer when mixed with water (coverage rate is 425-500 sq ft per 2.5 gallons of mixed sealer).

The few hundred dollars worth of protection on a typical driveway is better than the thousands of dollars it would cost to replace!

Easy Mixing

Pour 2.25 gallons of water (9 quarts) into a five gallon plastic bucket. Open concentrated quart-sized bottle of sealer and pour into the bucket. Mix thoroughly (minute or so) with either a drill and a mixing paddle or a large paint stick. You now have your 2.5 gallons of ready-to-use sealer!

Applying the concrete sealer

Pour the mixed sealer into a pump-up pressure sprayer and spray a fine mist onto the surface of the concrete (we use a battery operated pressure sprayer that is attached to a hand cart, but any plastic pump-up pressure should work fine). Apply to the point of almost puddling. Evenly spread the sealer back and forth with a stiff bristled broom to spread-out any runs.

Temps

Good temperature range at time of application – between 50 – 95 degrees Fahrenheit:  50 degrees Fahrenheit on the low end (with no freezing that night) and no warmer than 95 degrees Fahrenheit on the high end.

How long does it last?

Our penetrating sealer offers 3 years of excellent protection and moderate protection for 2 more years, giving you a sealed concrete surface for a total of 5 years. After this period has elapsed, you should certainly consider resealing your concrete with Concrete Protector Penetrating Sealer. Of course, every case is different, so be sure to do what’s best for your particular situation.
